President’s Award Team Recognized at 2021 LGBT Health Workforce Conference

A 2019-2020 President’s Award for Global Learning team has won Best Education Poster at the 2021 LGBT Health Workforce Conference, hosted by Building the Next Generation of Academic Physicians (BNGAP).

Students Shelby Hobohm, Nima Rahman, Shilpa Rajagopal, Rosaleen Xiong and Aniruddhan Vasudevan worked with faculty members Sharmila Rudrappa, Patricia Hamilton-Solum and Paul Toprac to create technological solutions addressing health inequalities for LGBTQ+ South Indians in Chennai, India, last year. They presented their findings in a research poster at the conference in April 2021.

The annual LGBT Health Workforce Conference is the largest national conference of its kind in the U.S. Created for health professionals, educators and students, it aims to prepare participants to address concerns and disparities in LGBT communities.
