One of the 2019-2020 President’s Award for Global Learning teams has won first place in the 2021 Longhorn Research Poster Session for their project on using interprofessional education to improve community health in Kenya.

The team of students and faculty, including Kristine Adiele, Lauren Cebulske, Livia Frost, Kristian Jones, Siddha Sannigrahi, and professors Julie Zuniga and Alexandra Garcia, shared their insights on community-based education and service models in Kenya with their research poster, entitled “The Impact of COVID-19 on The Self-Management of Individuals with Chronic Conditions.” The interdisciplinary research team was awarded a cash prize of $2,000.

The poster session was part of Research Week, an annual series of events hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research. Students from around the university presented over 130 posters and competed for various cash prizes. More than 3,000 visitors from across the world, including India, Canada and Ireland, viewed the posters almost 10,000 times during the event.
